Now the fun part:

We will provide you with detailed directions to everywhere on the island, a list of restaurants, cafes, coves and beaches.  We provide beach towels, umbrella, snorkel gear and friends on the island to chat with.  You can rent a boat for your own circumnavigation of the island (it only takes 2 hours, but you will make a day of it).  Drop anchor in several coves - the ones that are most inviting. Bring lunch, swim, sun, and marvel at Montecristo, Elba, and Corsica on the horizon.

Visitors to our apartment will enjoy access to beach towels, beach umbrella, snorkel gear, and Kika, our friendly manager who grew up on the island but lived in California for many years.  She knows everyone, and speaks English better than most of us.

Internet and telephone can be made available to those guests that we speak with via telephone.  These devices are our personnel cellular phones and access point, so we want to make sure that they are treated with care so that we can use them in the future.

Giglio Adventure

A week on a Mediterranean island - to check off of your "Bucket List."

Isola del Giglio is a wonderful jewel known to Italians but to few others outside of Italy.  It is a favorite destination for Romans and those living in Central Italy during the heat of the summer.  The island is not at all pretentious; there is nothing fancy about the restaurants, clubs, or stores.  The island is well known by SCUBA divers for its pristine, crystal clear water with abundant sea life.

After a week visiting the wonder of Italy, Giglio offers a week of cool seaside vistas, great food, and healthy choices.  Hiking, bicycling, and swimming is what most visitors enjoy.

The island is mostly granite, which provides spectacular vistas and great sunbathing.  Each cove is different, and all provide tables of natural granite to stretch out a towel and read and relax. There are several beaches, and in the Mediterranean fashion they are privately operated with rental umbrellas and lounge chairs.  They tend to be crowded, but this should not detract from sitting and reading on the beach.
